Despite Joey’s confidence in his ability to play the game it becomes quite clear that Yugi is a the more skilled player as he beats Joey fairly easily.
They are playing a wholesome game of Duel Monsters(a card game similar to Magic the Gathering where players use a combination of Monsters cards: creatures summoned to fight, Magic cards: Cards that help them and Trap Cards: Cards that hinder their Opponents to reduce their opponent’s Life Points to 0). Finally we have Tea Gardener, only girl in this quartet and Yugi’s main love interest, she most well know for her almost bottomless well of Friendship speeches that are so saccharine they have been known to give people diabetes.
With him are 3 of lovable friends Joey Wheeler, a tough but good-hearted punk with a lot of tenacity and the most exaggerated Brooklyn you’ll find outside of a comedy sketch, Tristen Taylor, Joey’s best friend and one of the least developed characters in the series. It’s at the local High School Domino High where we are introduced to our main Characters, Yugi Muto, a shy kid with a love of games and Hair so elaborately ridiculous it would put Lady Gaga to shame.
#YU GI OH GOD CARDS COMBIND SERIES#
The series opens in Domino City(the only City in the world to be founded by a Pizza Company, at least until Fazbearburgh is a reality). In the present a young boy named Yugi is able to unlock the secrets of the Millennium Puzzle and in so doing is infused with Ancient Magic and chosen by Destiny to stop the return of the Shadow Games just the like the Pharaoh before him(So like No pressure or anything, damn what is it with Destiny and always choosing One Person to save the world, you’d think it would a few chosen ones, like a back up or two) We get a quick prolong in which a Narrator(later revealed to be the Pharaoh but I’ll get to him later) explains how thousands of years ago in Ancient Egypt( and like all media are nice enough never to tell us which Egyptian Dynasty it takes place during) Sorcerers and Kings used magic in order to play games of Great and Terrible Power but these game soon grow out of control and threatened to destroy the entire world and so a Nameless Pharaoh sealed the magic away in the Seven Millennium Items(more on them later). With all that it mind It’s time to D-d-d-d-duel 5:I will mainly be sticking to the anime and not the Manga or Season 0, I may review Season 0 at a future date but for now I’m just going to stick to the anime that focuses on the card game.
#YU GI OH GOD CARDS COMBIND UPDATE#
4: They’re no set schedule on this series, while I will try to publish as often as possible life is complicated and it may be that i simply can not update the series. I’m simply doing this because i want to so if you don’t like my work then just don’t read them and read one of the better reviews of Yu-Gi-Oh. 3: I recognise that other people have probably done similar thing to this and probably have done it better, however i don’t care. So while you read this please keep in mind that these are simply my opinion and no one has to agree with them if they don’t want to. 2: This is my opinion and only mine and any view I express are not an attack on anyone or any view-point they are simply my own. 1: I will be focusing mainly on the Dub of Yu-Gi-Oh, not the sub and yes while recognise that much of the content is lost in the translation I am not multilingual and do not wish to read subtitles anymore than i need to, that being said i will be using the Sub version when i need to like for Yu-Gi-Oh GX season 4 which has never been dubbed. Just a couple of ground rules going in for all my readers. Welcome to Yu-Gi-Oh my God Cards, a series where i will be summarizing, analyzing and reviewing every season of every series of the Yu-Gi-Oh anime series.
